Borrowing AU Library Books

Please see theÌýVisitor ServicesÌýpage for important instructions before visiting Bender Library. We are pleased offer AU alumni lifetime AU book borrowing privileges as well as a host of other services. Please visit the Circulation and Course Reserves Desk to set up an account.

Alumni library borrowing account creation is available on-site Monday-Thursday: 9am-7pm, Friday: 9am-5pm, and Sat and Sun: 11am-5pm (unless the library is closed or closes earlier than those times).

Alumni ID Cards

For your convenience, the Office of Housing & Dining does provide AU Alumni ID cards. These cards have a personalized barcode for checking out books.

Borrowing Privileges

Alumni can borrow up to 25 books at a time from the AU Library for 4 weeks. Books can be renewed using yourÌý, by phone, or in person. Consortium borrowing is not available to alumni; however, books can be requested via interlibrary loan at a rate of $25.00 per item.

On-Site Services

Alumni may use Bender Library until closing, or until 11:00pm when the library isÌýopen later for students. You are welcome to use all library services on-site, including accessing online journals and databases as well as obtaining professional assistance from reference librarians and subject specialists. To use electronic resources and the Internet, you will need to show your Alumni ID or other valid photo ID at the Borrowing Desk for a daily use log-in.
