Persian Studies

Taghe Bostan village, Kermanashah, Iran.

The World Languages and Cultures supports continued interest in the Middle East with an introductory program for Persian language. The courses include both Elementary through Intermediate Persian. The main goal is attaining proficiency in listening, speaking and reading the language. Listening comprehension drills are stressed at all levels and activities make use of multimedia resources. Intermediate courses emphasize more complex grammatical structures in culturally authentic contexts through speaking, reading and writing skills. In-class Persian communication between instructor and students is a regular feature of all classes.
