Our Leadership

American University's leadership is dedicated to implementing the academic mission, research enterprise, and strategic vision of the university.

Jonathan Alger leads AU as the 16th President of the University. The Office of the Provost, led by acting provost Vicky Wilkins, is the chief academic officer while the legal powers of the university are vested in the Board of Trustees.

The Board of Trustees is the governing body of American University. As the university's fiduciary, the board is responsible to sustain and advance the University's mission.
