Quantitative Support
Quantitative Support:
Quantitative Support provides mathematics and statistics support to undergraduate and graduate students at American University. Tutors will help students learn course concepts, develop study strategies, complete practice exercises, and prepare for exams. Quantitative Support comprises two core services: the Math & Stats Lab and OnlineÌýStatistical Software Support. Meet the Quantitative Support team here.
Math & Stats Lab:
Any AU student with a quantitative component in their coursework is welcome to visit the LabÌýin theÌýDon Myers Building, room 103, for assistance regarding that component. They do not need an appointment to receive tutoring at the Lab.
Fall 2024 Semester:
Below is the weekly schedule for tutoring at the Lab:
- Sundays, 3 - 7 pm
- Mondays - Thursdays, 11 am - 7 pm
- Fridays, 11 am - 3 pm
The Lab focuses on providing tutoring for the following courses:
- MATH-125 to MATH-222
- STAT-160 to STAT-320
- DATA-412
Depending on tutors' availability and skillsets,Ìýthey might be able to assist undergraduate and graduate students taking higher-level mathematics and statistics courses. Also, tutors might be able to assist students with quantitative concepts in coursework from other departments’ courses.

Statistical Software Support:
Tutors will assist ALL students (undergraduate and graduate) online in a one-on-one settingÌýenrolled inÌýcourses using and interpreting results from software such as Excel, Python, R, Stata, SPSS, SQL, SAS, and StatCrunch. Tutoring is held online atÌý.
For statistical software support at the graduate or undergraduate level, OnlineÌýStatistical Software Support is by appointment. Ìý
