Bio
Xinyuan is a PhD student in Political Science. She studies political methodology and comparative politics. Her research interests include using Bayesian method to study public opinion and political behavior in the United States and Europe. She also has a focus in studying the interplay between political institutions and political economy. Her research uses advanced statistical methods including Bayesian hierarchical modeling, Markov-Chain Monte Carlo simulation, causal inference, and machine learning.

Xinyuan works as a research assistant for Prof. Jeff Gill. She is also a fellow at Center for Data Science in School of Public Affairs and an editorial assistant for Political Analysis Journal.
