Bio
For the greater part of his professional career, Roger Rolando Reyes has worked in the field of international education in South Korea, earning awards for his pedagogy and research from the Superintendent of the Jeu Special Self-Governing Provincial Office of Education and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea. The son of Honduran immigrants to the United States, his teaching portfolio included teaching English, Spanish, curriculum design, and cultural competency.

In November of 2022, Roger was selected for the Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Graduate Fellowship, one of the flagship programs for attracting diverse, top talent into the U.S. Foreign Service to make it more inclusive and representative of our nation’s richness and diversity. With a 3.46% acceptance rate, this opportunity allowed Roger to achieve his dream of becoming a U.S. diplomat and serving his country as an interlocutor of U.S. American values as a Public Diplomacy Officer.

Currently, Roger is majoring in Intercultural and International Communication and pursuing certification in Humanitarian Policy and Practice at the School of International Service at American University. He serves as the President of the American University Graduate Leadership Council, a co-founder of the American University Diplomatic Fellows Association, a Junior Advisor of the Association of Latino Career Enhancement, and a Graduate Research Assistant for the American University Korea in Global Affairs Initiative.
