Bio
Wendy (Wyndi) Marie Anderson is the Program Coordinator at the Center for Health, Risk, and Society at American University. With a background in program management, advocacy, community organizing and organizational change, Wyndi brings experience in public health and human rights. She has led initiatives at organizations such as the National Immigration Law Center, Open Society Foundation, Provide, Choices Center for Reproductive Health, National Network of Abortion Funds, Colon Cancer Alliance and Pregnancy Justice (formerly: National Advocates for Pregnant Women), where she worked on issues related to healthcare advocacy, abortion access, and the decriminalization of drug use during pregnancy. Wendy’s expertise in building strategic partnerships and her commitment to advancing social justice make her an invaluable asset to the Center, where she coordinates programs and fosters interdisciplinary collaboration. She holds a B.A. in Theater from the College of Charleston and is currently pursuing a MA in Sociology at American University where she is focusing on access to abortion, with a specific interest in rural and southern regions of the United States.
