What are the building hours?
All building entrances and garage are locked 24/7, but may be accessed by using faculty, staff, or student AU IDs.
For guests, visitors, or OLLI students, a PIN number will be provided to them by their host.
Unscheduled guests can contact the office they intend to visit via the visitor management system kiosk at the main entrance.
What should you do if packages/mail for the wrong oļ¬ce arrive at yours?
Mark the package as āincorrectly addressedā or āreturn to senderā and leave it with your outgoing mail. Mail Services will pick it up on the next delivery day.
Mail Services is working to create a common drop-off point for misdelivered items and packages to launch in Summer 2024.
Who should I contact if I have concerns about safety and security of the building?
Contact AUPD for emergencies at 202-885-3636 and for non-emergencies, call 202-885-2527.
Who should I contact if there is a non-emergency building issue? (Ex: Lightbulbs out, etc.)
Contact 2Fix either at 2fix@american.edu or via your , where you should search Facilities and look for 2Fix.
How can my food delivery service get my food to me in SVB?
If your order was placed through AU Kitchen, it will be delivered to the space(s) within the building indicated on the catering order.
If your order was placed through an external service, set your delivery location to one of the two entrances, either Massachusetts Ave. or the 48th St. entrance on the second floor. You will need to meet the delivery driver at that location to receive the delivery.
How will occupants of the building get information relevant to SVB operations, events, changes in security, and or any other important updates?
Information will be sent via the SVB listserv. Email administrators have been assigned to each entity to enable them to send messages and updates to the SVB community.
Where do I go in case of ļ¬re or emergency evacuation?
Exit the building using the staircase to the closest emergency exit, then walk up the hill on Massachusetts Ave. toward campus to AUās 45th St. Athletic Field on the left.
For extended evacuation or inclement weather, SVBās relocation building is the Mary Graydon Center.
Who do I contact if students need help with the public printer on the first floor?
Contact and/or 202-885-2550.
What dining optionsĀ are available in SVB?
Within the SVB building, vending machines are located on the 6th floor.
Outside of the SVB building, local cafes and restaurants include Millieās, Bluestone Lane Cafe, Wagshalās, Pizzeria Paradiso, Starbucks, and Compass Coffee.
Where are the āblue light phonesā located in SVB?
There are emergency phones with blue lights at: the elevator entrances on each level of garage, throughout the garage levels, and outside at the old shuttle stop entrance on 48th St.
Can I have things delivered or picked up via the loading dock in the rear of the building? Who do I contact about this?
The loading dock is not available for general deliveries. Large deliveries should be coordinated with Mail Services at (202) 885-2575.
Departments with existing loading dock privileges (i.e. Catering, Admissions, Library) should continue to follow their existing scheduling protocols.
What shuttle do I take to get to SVB?
The Red Express Route picks up and drops off at the corner of Massachusetts Ave. and 48th St.
If I get locked out of my oļ¬ce or SVB building, who do I call?
Please call AUPD at 202-885-2527 and have your AUID number ready.
Who do I contact with AV issues in SVB classrooms?

How do I park in SVB?
You can access the garage with your AUID. Pay by app, machine, or monthly permit applies.
For guests, visitors, or OLLI students, a PIN number will be provided to them by their host. They can use that PIN number to enter the garage where, after parking, they should use the pay station.
How do I locate the oļ¬ces, people, or classrooms in SVB?
Please check AUās Website or the SVB panel upon entering the building.
