Dear AU Community,  Â
As the new semester begins, we invite the American University community to take part in the Airlie Berkshire Farm Community-Supported Agriculture (CSA) Program. The CSA program is a direct-to-consumer farm offering that lets you subscribe to a farm's harvest. By subscribing to the Airlie Berkshire Farm CSA, you become an integral part of the Berkshire Farm community, supporting sustainable agriculture while enjoying fresh, seasonal produce. Each week, your subscription box will feature ten to twelve pounds of seasonal herbs, fruits, and vegetables, including root vegetables, leafy greens, squash, apples, and more. Fall shares will also include items like pumpkins, sweet potatoes, kale, and a few other surprises.Â
Right now, we are pleased to announce a special fall semester CSA Share. Based on the feedback we received from community members who participated in the spring and summer shares, we’ve designed a CSA share that allows you to split the harvest with your colleagues, roommates, or friends. By simply noting in the comment box on the payment page the names of everyone who will split the share with you, anyone from the group will be able to pick up the share.Â
The fall share will run from September 4 to October 31, and you can pay $369 in advance or biweekly installments of $79 (five payments per season). The deadline to sign up is August 30.Â
Select one of three convenient ways to receive your CSA boxes each week on Wednesday from 12 to 2 p.m.:
- Pickup at the AU Farmer’s Market on Main Campus
- Pickup at 4401 Connecticut Avenue (AU employees only)
- Pickup at Washington College of Law (AU employees only)
Please register and subscribe using the payment links here:Â
- (five bi-weekly installments of $79)
- (prepaid at $369)
If you have any questions or require further assitance, please feel free to reach out to the farm at berkshirefarm@airlie.com. Check our website for more information, terms and conditions, and FAQs at .
