Current project interest includes:
Similarities between Japanese and Korean languages, helping Japanese language learners.
Prior to American University, Kayoko Shibata worked for the World Bank for 18 years. While she was at the World Bank, she taught at the Graduate School of International Cooperation Studies, Kobe University in Japan as visiting research fellow, and also taught at the School of International Development, Nagoya University as visiting scholar. She worked on ensuring ICTs for development, especially for women's economic empowerment.
