- A composer/pianist and innovator, Sapieyevski brings a new approach to piano performance blending popular and classical styles. His commissions and performances include the Kennedy Center, Library of Congress, Carnegie Hall, and some major academic centers. The score for the Shakespeare Theatre's Production of Richard III (starring Stacy Keach) was nominated for a Helen Hayes Award. In 2005, Jerzy Sapieyevski was decorated with the "Knight Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland". His "MusicHappens" and "AmericanSongClub" bring a new dimension and vitality to live music events and talent development. Acknowledged in The Oxford Dictionary of Music, he is especially interested in creating interactive works that unite various cultures and disciplines.
