Game Point Counter

Game point counter - a device with screens and buttons on either side

James wanted to easily track points when playing board games with friends and family. He came up with a design for a device that could track his and his opponent's total game points. This project combines many of the tools in DaBL and offers an example of how they can be used together in an iterative process to create complex projects.

The project started on a breadboard in order to test all of the electronical components. James then created a schematic of the board in Autodesk Eagle, which he then fabricated on our CNC Mill. Next, he soldered together all wires and electronics. Then James used Fusion 360 to design a housing space for all of the electronics and fabricated it on our 3D printer. Finally, all the pieces could be assembled as one. The final product is shown below: the buttons control whether the counter should increase, decrease, or be reset.
